ABOUT
It all started when…
Former journalist and executive producer of Australia’s top rating radio programs and live national Breakfast-TV, Amber Sheldon moved into Communications and PR and quickly established herself as a highly respected consultant.
Amber has been a sought after communications advisor for well established and emerging businesses for the past 20 years. Her vast experience in communications spans industry sectors including retail and consumer, arts and culture, building and development, Government and health.
Working first in communications on Australia’s largest festivals — like Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Adelaide Fringe — and more national band tours than is recommended, Amber undertook the prestigious post of PR and media manager with the Victoria Racing Club at Flemington.
At the VRC Amber was responsible for the Melbourne Cup Carnival and its 50 associated events’ PR and Communications — working closely with sponsors such as Emirates, Lexus and MYER, as well as reputation, issues and crisis management as a media spokesperson for the Club.
After moving back to Perth with her family, Amber took up the role of Associate Director at a boutique agency for eight years, heading up the consumer and retail arm of the business.
Amber established Pretzel Communications in 2018 and has a broad range of clients, with whom she often enjoys a salted snack and a coffee, while working on all things Communications and PR.
